Annual General Meeting Summary 2018


We held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Hull Guildhall on 11 December.


Members voted to declare Dividends on savings accounts of:

• 1.00% on all Adult and Junior Saver Accounts;
• 1.00% on Community Accounts;
based on the daily balances during the year to 30 September 2018.


Allan Davidson, Bill Meadows, Kate Pike and Jane Walton were re-elected to the Board of Directors for three years.

Annual Report and Accounts

Members received the Annual Report and Accounts and re-appointed the Auditors, Jacksons Accountants.

Questions were asked and answered on the impact of Universal Credit on our members, progress with development in North East Lincolnshire, the achievement of the regulatory target of 10% reserves to assets ratio and whether the Board was satisfied with the level of bad debts.

Other Business

Members approved a recommendation from the Board of Directors to disband the Credit Committee, as its role had been superseded. Thanks were expressed to all members who had served on the Credit Committee over the years.

Members voted by a large majority in favour of resolutions to extend the common bond qualification for membership in Rule 7 to postcode area YO and employees of named departments of HM government.

The Chief Executive opened a consultation with members on a potential change to the trading name of the Credit Union.

Kate Pike (Director) and Matthew Stevens (Chair of Employees’ Council) presented a cheque for £645 to our 2018 Charity of the Year, Aim Higher, a local organisation empowering families struggling with autism, mental health and educational barriers. A collection at the meeting raised a further £91.39.

A closing prize draw was held and members took home seasonal gifts kindly supplied by Lincolnshire Co-operative together with a HEYCU Calendar and Pen.
