As a member, you are able to access exclusive deals through the Co-operative Electrical.

They've got thousands of top quality branded products available with free, rapid delivery within a 60 minute timeslot. They don't make profit on extended warranties either (should you choose to buy one).

They make great gifts, and we save you money too!

Ask in branch or call us for more details.

    Help us save on postage!

If you have an email address, please let us know

Sending you an email instead of posting you a letter saves HEYCU a lot of money. So, next time you contact us, ask us to update your account!

    Christmas Saver Accounts

From Monday 3rd November members can withdraw from their Christmas Saver Account.

  • You don't need to withdraw all of your cash at once, you have up to Christmas Day to dip in (last office opening day is Christmas Eve).

  • You can withdraw from the account by sending us a Withdrawal Form for the funds to be transferred to your bank account - this saves you from having to come into a branch for cash. You can send this by post, email, or fax.

  • Any savings deposited after the 1st November can't be withdrawn until next year (1st November marks the start of a new Christmas Saver year)

    Happy spending!

    International Credit Union Day

We had a very eventful International Credit Union Day yesterday (16th October).

Firstly we welcomed a visit to the Hull branch from the Lord Mayor of Hull Councillor Mary Glew, who joined in the celebrations with a cup of tea and biscuits. We then held a successful event for East Riding of Yorkshire Council staff in the Beverley County Hall (pictures below).

Thanks to all that took part.

Could you be a HEYCU Director?

Do you have what it takes to be on our Board of Directors?

If you’re passionate about the values of the credit union movement and have the time and determination to help HEYCU build on its' successes - we’d like to hear from you!

Our Board comprises 12 non-executive volunteer directors who are legally responsible for the governance of the credit union and its strategic direction and policies.

In the interests of an effective skills balance we are especially keen to hear from people with accountancy skills and business experience.

To find out more about the role and what’s involved see our role profile.

You could also call our Chief Executive on 01482 778753 for an informal chat.

This year’s Nominations for directors must be sent in by Monday 24 November, for elections at the AGM on 9 December.

To find out about being a volunteer in general, see our Be a Volunteer booklet.

    UNISON members welcome to join

We are pleased to announce that we are now working in partnership with UNISON, the public service union, to help UNISON members and potential members with safe savings and affordable, responsible loans.

UNISON members at Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council can pay into the Credit Union very easily by payroll deduction.

We have a great range of savings accounts and loan plans from £100 to £15,000 to meet everyone's needs, with many loans at rates considerably cheaper than High Street banks.

If you are a UNISON member, why not give us a try?

Golden Anniversary for UK Credit Unions

HEYCU is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the first credit union in Britain

Since 1964, UK credit unions have been making decisions for the best interests of their members, not external shareholders. Let's remind ourselves of a few CU facts:

    • Nearly 400 CU's in Britian
    • Over one million members
    • More than £1 billion in assets

We look forward to the next 50 years!
